The sixth annual Cider Run, featuring a 10K run, 5K run, and 5K walk is set to take place on Saturday, April 21, at the Fly Creek Cider Mill. This year’s event will benefit the Susquehanna Animal Shelter in Cooperstown, NY. The Susquehanna Animal Shelter is non-profit organization that cares for homeless and abandoned animals in and around Otsego County, NY. The Cider Run includes a scenic 5k fun run and walking course as well as a challenging 10k course. Participation in either event will guarantee you a refreshing and delicious glass of hard (with valid I.D.) or sweet cider at the finish. Each course provides spectacular views of the mountains and valleys that surround the Fly Creek Cider Mill. The 10k presents an increased challenge and any runner will feel a sense of accomplishment when completing this course. Participants are encouraged to register before April 1 to be guaranteed a t-shirt and commemorative pint glass (to be filled with hard or sweet cider). After April 1, the registration fee for adults will be raised from $25 to $30 and for children 12 and under from $15 to $20. Opportunities to sponsor The Cider Run and have your business name and/or logo appear on the t-shirt are still available and range from $100-$1,000. Questions should be emailed to CiderRun5k@gmail.com.
