Edmeston native fills a pressing need
Jack Stanton hired as Fly Creek Cider Mill Facility Manager
FLY CREEK, NY – Jack Stanton of Edmeston, NY has joined the team at the Fly Creek Cider Mill as Facilities Manager. Jack, a former dairy owner, will now oversee the maintenance and care of Fly Creek’s 1856 water-powered Cider Mill. "As we approach our 150th year I welcome Jack to share my role of caretaker of our historic Mill. Jack’s expertise in farming and general maintenance will be invaluable to the Mill," said Bill Michaels, co-owner of the Mill. "Facility manager is an essential full-time year-round position that presents many challenges in keeping the property maintained for future generations to enjoy." Another is overseeing the Mill’s fall cider production running from Labor Day until Thanksgiving. The Mill’s orchard and feathered friends will also benefit from Jack’s farming background experience. Jack says, "I have always enjoyed farming so this position will allow me to continue in the field and apply my skills as a problem solver." The Fly Creek Cider Mill will be open to the public until December 18 re-opening in the spring for its 150th anniversary season.
