Taking a Bite out of the Big Apple

Fly Creek’s Team visits Manhattan to learn new skills

New York, NYFly Creek Cider Mill team members and friends enjoyed beautiful weather and great taste treats during their motorcoach trip to New York City on April 9th. Billed as a "school on wheels," participants learned from experts of specialty food purveyors such as Stew Leonard’s, Whole Foods, Balducci’s and Zabar’s. "Each spring we take the team to visit specialty product marketers for broadening our knowledge about the latest in merchandising and marketing techniques," said Bill Michaels, co-owner of the Mill. "It gives us a look at what’s new before we open for the season, plus the tour provides a great opportunity for all of us to get together and have fun." The trip culminated with a gourmet dinner at Kitchen 82 owned by Charlie Palmer, brother of the Mill’s co-owner, Brenda Michaels.

The Mill will re-open on May 21st for its 149th season with a fresh array of specialty foods and Pride of New York products.
