Fly Creek Cider Mill host motorcoach learning tour of Lancaster County, PA
The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard Leadership, Team and Friends are hitting the road on March 24 for the 5th Annual Voyage of Discovery – School on Wheels overnight trip to the LancasterCounty area of Pennsylvania.
This annual tour incorporates networking, sightseeing, marketing and retail evaluations, shopping and this year – a dinner show! Billed as a “school on wheels” participants will share retail and marketing techniques, stop evaluations and fun activities all to set the stage for another retail season.
Package includes: Round trip motorcoach transportation, overnight accommodation at the Eden Resort Inn including taxes and baggage handling, Kitchen Kettle Village, step-on guide for Amish countryside touring including a stop at Amish Quilt & Craft Shop, Intercourse Cannery, Mt. Hope Winery tour and tasting, Rainbow Dinner Theater, buffet breakfast, Mill Bridge Village, Stoudt’s Microbrewery and Antique Shops, visit to Hershey Chocolate World, and shopping stop at Cabela’s.

Saturday, March 24
6:00am - Depart Fly Creek and travel to Lancaster County, PA

11:45am - Approximate arrival
VisitKitchenKettleVillage for shopping and lunch-on-own. There are 39 shops and restaurants here jammed full of Lancaster’s simple pleasures. See pottery throwing and fudge making. Visit the Jam and Relish Kitchen or the bake shop, and try some homemade ice cream.
1:00pm - Depart with a step-on guide for local touring to include:
Intercourse Cannery - The Cannery is an authentic Lancaster County Cannery with Amish and Mennonite folks working in the kitchen. You can observe the canning process as you look into the glass enclosed kitchen. And “sample” your way around the store!
Mt.Hope Winery - Sample wine in the newly built Carriage House Wine Shop. Over 20 vintages, wine accessories, gift baskets.
Amish Farmlands Tour with a stop at a Quilt and Craft Shop
5:30pm - Hotel check-in: Eden Resort Inn (717) 560-8400
There is only time for a brief freshen-up and a chance for baggage to be unloaded. You must depart for dinner by 6pm.
6:30pm - Rainbow Dinner Theater – Enjoy a delicious meal and wonderful entertainment. The menu varies and can include pasta, seafood, potatoes, and vegetables, as well as house favorites: roast beef and stuffed chicken cutlets. For dessert there’s a selection of cakes and pies, not to mention hand-dipped ice cream to top off your meal.
Goodbye Charlie - Written by George Axelrod, this play is about Charlie, a Hollywood playboy with a reputation for womanizing, who meets an untimely end. As punishment for his bad behavior and his attitude toward the ladies, he is sent back to earth as a beautiful girl. This confuses the heck out of Charlie’s best friend and the situation gets even funnier when the best friend starts to fall in love with the reincarnated femme fatale!

Sunday, March 25
8:00am - Breakfast buffet at hotel.
9:30am - MillBridgeVillage – Step back 200 years into a way of life that made America what it is today. MillBridgeVillage celebrates farming, the Amish, and the Pennsylvania Dutch way of life. The village showcases a blacksmith shop, quilters, and a full operating gristmill where guests can see the corn milling process.
11:30am - Visit Adamstown for shopping and lunch on own – Adamstown is known as the Sunday Antiques Capital. You´ll find one of the largest concentrations of antiques in the nation. You’ll also find Stoudt’s Microbrewery and you can take a free tour of the microbrewery if you choose. There are several eateries in the vicinity for lunch.
1:30pm - Depart for Hershey
2:30pm - Hershey’s Chocolate World – Take a simulated chocolate-making tour and learn the chocolate-making process from harvesting cocoa beans to packaging the finished product. End up in the retail area where you can purchase sweet treats for the ride home.
4:00pm - Depart Hershey
5:00pm - Cabela’s – brief shopping stop en route home, or grab a bite to eat.
6:00pm - Depart for home, break stop en route
11:00pm Approximate return to Fly Creek
