Voyage of Discovery- Lancaster!
Fly Creek’s team and friends visit LancasterCountyPennsylvania and learn new skills.
Lancaster, PA – Fly Creek Cider Mill team members and friends enjoyed their annual Voyage of Discovery to Pennsylvania’s Amish Country the weekend of March 24th.
Each year the Mill invites its staff and friends to visit new tour destinations, agri-tourism attractions and retail locations for gaining knowledge through a “school-on-wheels” sharing experience. This year’s tour included stops at the Kitchen Kettle Village, Intercourse Cannery, Cherry-Crest Farm and Hershey’s Chocolate World. A guided tour of Amish Country and stops at Farm Markets were a highlight of the trip. “We learned how a county can successfully promote its farm heritage to 3.5 million visitors a year an still keep the rural charm character that is the main draw,” said Lin Molloy, a team leader at the Mill.
“This annual trip gives us all a boost of energy and excitement for our upcoming 151st season opening May 11th. Exploring and learning new ideas from such a popular tourism destination as Lancaster will be a great asset to the Mill and how we promote our Mill in the future,” says Bill Michaels, co-owner of the Mill.
The Fly Creek Cider Mill, re-opening on May 11th, is located just minutes from Cooperstown and offers visitors a wide array of Pride of New York Products including aged cheddar cheese, freshly made fudge, salsas, grilling sauces, apple wines, hard ciders and plenty of sweet cider.
