Fly Creek Cider Mill ready for 151st season!
Fly Creek, NY – The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will open for its 151st season Friday, May 11. All new flooring replaces the Mill’s first level damaged by last year’s June flooding. Jack Stanton, the Mill’s Facility Leader says, “the day after we closed in December the work began. We removed all the damaged flooring, replacing it with new wood and an epoxy membrane. It took 10,000 screws to do it, so now I hope it is impervious to any future weather events.” The Mill store will have a fresh new look with improved displays, a still wider variety of specialty foods in addition to the traditional favorites of cave-aged cheddar and mill-made fudge. 
Opening weekend will lead off a new feature entitled “Taste of Fly Creek Series” when selected vendors will sample and demonstrate their products. Larry Roseboom, partner in Breezie Maples Farm of Westford, will present their maple syrups in the Mill store on Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13 together with the Mill’s selection of pancake mixes.  The series will continue throughout the season with grilling, salsa and cheese weekend presentations. This weekend you will be able to pack your own New York Empire and McIntosh apples and savor the flavor of Fly Creek’s sweet cider and the Bakery will have plenty of pies.
