Local Flag Adorns Historic Mill in Fly Creek

The Fly Creek Cider Mill recently installed a locally crafted America Flag to the original portion of the Mill built in 1856.  The flag is the creation of artisan and carpenter Dave Butler, Sr. who fabricates the flags from native northern fir to regulation dimensions.

“When I saw these displayed around Fly Creek I immediately placed an order with Dave.  We have been looking for a quality decoration to replace our aging hex sign and this flag is perfect,” says Bill Michaels, Co-owner of the Mill.

Butler creates the flags in two different sizes and are built and finished to withstand the elements.  Each stripe is individually cut, planed, primed and painted and the stars are metal with a raised profile.
