Saturday, August 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., provides a unique opportunity to discover so much of what our local agriculture has to offer.
Thirty-five farms across two counties invite you to discover their brand of farming. This Guide is your resource to the participating farms. Feel free to visit as many as your schedule permits. Explore fish farming, beekeeping, maple syrup making, cheese making, milk bottling, sheep’s wool processing, cashmere goats, orchards, or cider making, maybe even a “Tiny House.” The maps will help guide you to the farm locations and to plan your day. Each county is shown in its entirety with numbered farms clearly indicating their locations. For access online, visit www.familyfarmday.org, and be sure to download while in regions with stronger signals. Road signs will be posted to assist your tour. The Key to Symbols above indicates which farms have which features, so you may enjoy the tours, rides, activities, free samples, and the opportunity to be close to farm animals where possible. Most importantly, take the time to get acquainted with some of our talented and resourceful producers.
Family Farm Day Etiquette: • Pets are not allowed on Family Farm Day farms. • Please do not stray on farms; remain in designated visitor areas. . . . And be sure to bring a cooler or insulated bag to take home delicious, local, farm-fresh products purchased throughout the day.farmers.
Once again visiting hours will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so be sure to use the new 2018 Farm Guide (available by July 1 in print and online) to help you navigate to the farm(s) of your choice. Additional Farm Guides are always available at all participating farms and farmers’ markets.
