
Thanksgiving is a special day for the Michaels Family as they break from work to enjoy each other and share a friendly game of pitch. While Bill traditionally roast the bird and makes the stuffing and potatoes others bring the side dishes.
One of thier all-time favorites is Grandma Barb's creamed onions in that brown casserole dish she always uses.
1.5 cups of FLy Creek Cidere Mill Extra-Sharp, New York State Cheddar Cheese
One bag of frozen tiny onions or 2 jars/cans
2 cups half & half or whole milk
4 tbsp. butter
.25 cup flour
salt, pepper, ground nutmeg, paprika

- Drain onions. Make a simple roux of with butter and flour. Slowly add Add half & half to create a sauce. Add the shredded Fly Creek Cider Mill Cheddar and melt into a cheese sauce. Add onions to sauce with a dash of salt, pepper and nutmeg. Transfer to a greased casserole dish. Cover and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with paprika before serving. This dish can be made ahead and warmed before serving.
